One of the things I think we must guard against is believing in something because everyone else (we know) does. This is incredibly dangerous and reckless.
…Even if it is our Church, family or friends close to us.
I myself over the last few years have come to understand more about End Times Doctrine and the last days from my own personal studies and prayer. And through that process I have come to question many of the main stream ideas and doctrines related to Eschatology..
There was a time when I was a great and loyal follower of the teachings related to the Rapture for example.. and many of the things associated with dispensational, pre-millennialism, pre-trib thinking.
There was a time I thought people like Tim LayHaye and Jenkins were authorities on End Times Doctrine based on what the media and main-stream Christian community suggests.
To the shock of many of you that know me, I have for a long time been moving away from this doctrine.
I confess I have been caught up in doctrine because it just sounded good and everyone else was on board with it. Much of this was do to the fact as I wanted or needed to embrace something. Or at least I felt I needed to..
This is changing for me and I hope through your own study you start thinking for yourself as well.
Challenge yourself and don’t be afraid to question.
Afterall God Himself gave us this capacity to question. And for good reason.. for there are many false teachers and doctrines out there that only through our own personal study, prayer and in trusting in the Holy Spirits guidance can we verify as real Truth.
